About Me: Meet the Teacher

Deanna Hudson started her music education journey in Missouri after getting a Bachelors of Music Education degree from Webster University. Her favorite performances included Carmen, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Cosi fan tutte. She is classically trained but thoroughly enjoys teaching contemporary and Broadway music. The first time she had her own classroom was in a St. Louis Catholic elementary school named Christ Light of the Nations, where she taught general music, recorders, choir, band, rock band, and gave private lessons to individual students (as well as some odds and ends teaching jobs such as art classes, subbing, and resource).

Though it was extremely hard to leave her students at Christ Light, she came to Arizona so that she could achieve her Masters of Music Education from ASU. While being here in Phoenix, however, she fell in love with the mountains, the climate of teaching, the resources, and yes, even the heat! So she decided to stay, continuing her time on the stage through new composer recitals, Gospel choir, and Die Zauberflöte. Right as she started looking for a teaching position, Notre Dame Preparatory High School showed up on her radar and here we are! She is so blessed to have the opportunity to come and work with NDP's students; they constantly impress her as they rise to the challenges she sets for them. There is a colossal amount of talent at this school!
